Salary: $68,150 - $102,230
Serves as the TVA architectural historian to evaluate the potential impact of TVA projects and programs on historically and architecturally significant sites and structures, both on and off TVA land. Such duties implement the agency’s responsibilities under applicable historic preservation laws and regulations and within related defined responsibilities of TVA’s formally established practices relative to compliance with federal preservation laws.
Independently performs assignments with instructions from manager as to general results expected. Receives minimal technical guidance on complex issues.

Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements/Other Requirements
A Masters degree in History, Architectural History, Architecture, or a closely related field is required. The candidate must meet the Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualification Standards for history and/or architectural history (36 CFR Part 61). Two or more years of professional experience in the field of NHPA and NEPA technical input. The incumbent must have documented experience in the following: conducting architectural surveys and evaluations; conducting historical and archival research; analyzing historical data; and synthesizing data into written documents (e.g., building and structure inventories and evaluations; HABS; HAER; and Historic American Landscapes Survey [HALS] documentation; NRHP and state register forms; historic contexts). A thorough understanding of Sections 106 and 110 of the NHPA is a necessity.
